The crafty Reynard of countless fables, the red fox's appeal is its alert expression. It is a handsome animal whose long silky fur set off by a white chest, black "boots" and a bushy tail sometimes make it appear larger than its 8 to 11pounds.

The sharp, pointed bill and red eye are characteristics of the "Common Loon". Its blood chilling cry is unforgetable, a wailing lament that trails off into maniacle laughter.

The White Tail Deer is in abundance throughout North America and trophy racks are common place in the Upper Peninsula!

The mother black bear and cub stay together until the cub is more than half grown - usually about 2 years.

The Bull Moose is the largest member of the deer family. It can be found in the U.P. & the border of Wisconsin.

The North American Timber or Gray Wolf is making a comeback in the U.S. Often hunted and trapped as a predator, it is now a protected species.
